Brazil Data Cube’s team attended the XX Simpósio Brasileiro de Sensoriamento Remoto – XX SBSR-2023

The Brazil Data Cube team actively participated in the XX Brazilian Symposium on Remote Sensing – XX SBSR 2023, in Florianópolis, SC, Brazil, from April 2nd to 5th.

During the event, the team was involved in several activities, starting on April 2nd, where the mini-course “Earth Observation Data Cubes and Analysis of Image Time Series” was taught, with 8 hours of duration and attended by 29 participants.

The project team also presented their work in poster presentations: “Deep Learning as a Tool to Interpolate Cloudy Pixels in Sentinel-2 Time Series“, “A Multi-Source WFI Datacube of CBERS-4 and CBERS-4A Images: Improving Visual Interpretation“, “Mapping forest disturbances in Maranhão state using time series and data cubes”, “DETER Intenso and Forest Monitor: Improving the alerting of deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest” and in oral presentation: “Use of Time Series for Land Use and Land Cover Classifications in Petrolina, Pernambuco“.

During the whole event period, the Stand of Brazil Data Cube received many visitors with demonstrations of the data and software products and the partnerships that have been developed in the context of the project.

And on the last day of the event, the BDC team held the Special Session “Earth Observation Data Cubes for Temporal Image Series Analysis” with presentations by project coordinators Dr. Karine Ferreira (INPE) and Dr. Gilberto Queiroz (INPE), and with invited researchers Dr. Gilberto Camara (INPE), Dr. Charlotte Pelletier (Uni. Bretagne-Sud, France) and Dr. Gregory Giuliani (Swiss Data Cube Project Leader, Uni. of Geneva, Switzerland).
